Taking a selection of Single Malt Whiskies and blending them together before aging inside Japanese Oak Casks (Mizunara) is how Ichiro Akuto creates this Reserve Whisky.

Mizunara/Japanese Oak is very rare and expensive so often Distilleries avoid maturation inside of these. However Chichibu knows the value of using this type of wood and the unique flavours it imparts, which is why they have created this whisky.

The Mizunara casks have given the Whisky earthy notes of Incense alongside the likes of Sandalwoods and fresh Citrus peels on the nose. The palate has a Ginger forefront with fragrant Wood Spices and Honey developing before a Dark Chocolate and Smoke infusion on the finish.
