Louis Royer first founded the Louis Royer Cognac Brand in his hometown in 1853 at the age of 25. Louis Royer quickly developed the business and pushed the boundaries to go international and further its progression in anyway possible. He remained in charge of the business until 1929 when it was passed on to his descendants. 

Louis Royers descendants remained in charge until 1989 and released the XO Cognac in 1988. In 1989 they joined the Suntory family where they have remained since and have developed to be one of the most popular Cognac brands in China and across the world!
