Bollinger was first created in 1829 when Athanese de Villermont who inherited an estate from his family and then looked to develop Champagne wine, however was unable to develop this due to being an Aristocrat. Later he met Joseph Bollinger and Paul Renaudin and developed the firm of Renaudn-Bollinger & Cie.
Bollinger was in charge of sales, Renaudin in charge of the cellar and Athanese created a champagne house designed to last for centuries. This was then passed down through generations within the family to come to the present day where Bollinger is still the popular and luxurious champagne it has always been!
