Our Adventure to the Henstone Distillery

On a sunny afternoon in Oswestry we were very fortunate to be invited to check out the Henstone Distillery. Nestled behind the Stonehouse brewery tap we found the magnificent Hilda, their very own 1000 litre Kothe still.

After a swift sample of the beers available from Stonehouse the head distiller, Chris Toller showed us how their gin (and whisky!) was created.

Bags and Bags of Botanicals

We then cracked open a bottle and sampled their amazing gin – bags and bags of flavour with a truly smooth finish. It is so packed full of natural botanicals that the essential oils develop a louche (cloudy to me and you!) when added to ice.
